The createOscillator()
method of the AudioContext
interface creates an OscillatorNode
, a source representing a periodic waveform. It basically generates a constant tone.
var audioCtx = new AudioContext(); var oscillator = audioCtx.createOscillator();
An OscillatorNode
.
The following example shows basic usage of an AudioContext to create an oscillator node. For applied examples/information, check out our Violent Theremin demo (see app.js for relevant code); also see our OscillatorNode
page for more information.
// create web audio api context var audioCtx = new (window.AudioContext || window.webkitAudioContext)(); // create Oscillator node var oscillator = audioCtx.createOscillator(); oscillator.type = 'square'; oscillator.frequency.value = 3000; // value in hertz oscillator.start();
