SpeechSynthesisUtterance.lang

This is an experimental technology
Because this technology's specification has not stabilized, check the compatibility table for usage in various browsers. Also note that the syntax and behavior of an experimental technology is subject to change in future versions of browsers as the specification changes.

The lang property of the SpeechSynthesisUtterance interface gets and sets the language of the utterance.

If unset, the app's (i.e. the <html> lang value) lang will be used, or the user-agent default if that is unset too.

Syntax

var myLang = speechSynthesisUtteranceInstance.lang;
speechSynthesisUtteranceInstance.lang = 'en-US';

Value

A DOMString representing a BCP 47 language tag.
